Well there you go, anyone that wants to shoot the private steels puts a few quid in the kitty. There will be a running costs to pay for, as fixing bolts, frames and paint all suffer with a direct hit. Personally I like chain because it enables the gong to ring loudly when hit even with a small bullet. Conveyor belt is probably more reliable but is a very effective sound damper.

Words have been had at range briefing about not shooting private steels which should be painted red. Thay will still get shot Dave!..To be honest at the moment £160 is a bit strong for me,but I have 6 smaller steels that you all can use....FCSA members was asked not to engage the steels with calibres over .308 that we had put out at 265yrds at the first Salisbury shoot. Alas some dickhead with a .338LM wanted to kill them!

When Tiff comes back with finalised costs I plan to buy 2 AR500 ipsc over 2 months.
If you (Glenn) could provide the initial frames then I am happy to share until others can come up with some dosh.

10mm AR500 IPSC's will be £150 each, including single 12mm bolt holes cut in each 'shoulder' for chains, wire or belt. Ideally 4 is the minimum order, but could do it for 3.
They would be ready to collect at the Spring RRC if ordered by April 1st, saving further on postage costs.
Hope that helps,
Tiff

Just to make sure that we are totally clear before I give Tiff the 'nod'......I will pay for 2 gongs and I was originally asking if you would share costs on a third in order to meet Tiffs min order qty......however if Glen and Rich are saying that they will pay for gongs 3 AND 4 then so much the better.
Please confirm.
