I would be happy for the MQC gongs to be used at the Salisbury shoots. I have 6 made up. Provided those that shoot at them contribute to their upkeep/replacement. They are only ar400 so may not handle all that you lot can thrown at them..... .50..... Scenars...... Penetrators.... Rich, you want to organise this? I can't afford the membership just now. i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk203/oaken488/2013-06-02123356.jpg

It occurs to me that a good option there would be for the prospective 6 to 10 bods to chip in an extra tenner and so cover your subs as a means of contributing to the gong maintenance....that way you get to shoot as well?

I'm afraid it runs a bit deeper than that! Good thought though. I'm only really planning to do Tiffs shoots this year due to poor health and associated poverty. Happy for the gongs to be used, so long as they don't get trashed. I am guessing they will be ok if used at longer ranges.

Well just got back from Salisbury shoot.....cracking day and good company.
We could really use our own steels as although FCSA provided reactive targets at 200ish, 450 , 585 and 1100 anything further was tanks etc and not much use unless you are happy batting hulks.
SO...... who is going to omit between 60 and 100 quid to buy three or four IPSC STEELS mainly for use at Salisbury as Rich will look after them?

And yeah, another great day. New club .50 is nice.
Shame there wasn't a mid day check fire. Would have been the perfect day for doing some load development.

Was it at the same range as last time?

Yeah, but we should be able to put targets out further.
The problem with the shoot you attended was that if we had put them out further they may have been either hit by the 155s or we may not have been able to recover them.
I had a look yesterday and there are places where we could put targets between the 1330 and 2500 yd targets.

My thinking is to set out the proposed 3 or 4 IPSC steels at between 1200 and 1600 (or whatever the 'owners' mutually agree on the day) such that we can use the 200 - 1100 reactive targets that the club puts out AND get the 'stretch' distance practice without the need to resite targets as we are not likely to get a checkfire.....at least not that we can rely on.
All we need is group cash!
