Rich, I'm gutted not to be there but if I do turn out, I know that my body won't be able to work the following week. With money really tight just now, I'm afraid it's just not happening :-( CoF looks really good Tiff and a credit to you for not cancelling, I'm guessing your not even breaking even on this one? Have a great time and hope the weather holds for you. Rup

Yep thanks Tiff great comp and really nice playing at silly distances today glad the fog lifted and even a bit of sunshine. Not sure of the name of the chap with the nice spotting scope but I wish I hadn't looked through it, I now want one. Cheers to everyone for the help and fun. I didn't even have to listen to Paddy for six hours on the drive home as the roads were empty and it only took 4.

Another great weekend at the RRC. As usual Tiff put on a great CoF. Saturday was very challenging, Sunday was a great follow up. Consistently hitting the 1350yd gong was the highlight of my weekend. Popping those coke cans was pretty good too. When you get the video of that online, could you send me a link to it? Or even better email me a copy.
Many thanks to Tiff's mum and dad Glen's son for being our sentries.
This really is a great event and venue and it always amazes me that more people aren't queuing up to attend. It's always the same faces give or take, but then that's not necessarily a bad thing, there is always some good banter. The banter, and the shooting were definitely on form this weekend.
It was good to see a couple of new faces this time, hopefully we'll get more for future events. If we don't get good attendance, it won't be viable for Tiff to continue running them. They are run at considerable cost and effort on his part and need our support if there are going to be any more in the future. Use it or loose it.
I've got some pictures (which meet Tiff's photo requirements) which I'll put up later.
I enjoy the RRC more every time I go. Can't wait for the next one.
Rich

Put this on the RRC Long Range post by mistake so repeated here!.... I was originally going to PM this to Tiff but thought that I would post it openly for comment (constructive)!...Hope you don't mind my presumption Tiff. Its likely that Tiff has already considered the option and there may be reasons why it is not viable but here goes food for thought.... 1. The shoot is under-attended (fact)...reasons may be shooter apathy, lack of cash or just plain bloody laziness but Tiff can't be subsidising comps for long even if he was willing to do so!.....Nothing you don't already know. 2. Some shooters MAY be unable to attend because they don't have, cannot get, or don't want field conditions on their FAC.... and they are probably out there in greater numbers than those of us who have open-certs or field conditions which allow us to shoot 'off-range' 3. It looks like the RRC is in danger of withering on the vine from lack of numbers if we cannot open up the potential audience of attendees. 4 SO....is there any mileage in discussing with Tiff (and by extension the Landowner via Tiff) the potential to formalise the RRC terrain as a formal range? I have little or no idea what the process is but SURELY the land itself would be deemed very safe and eligible for range designation? Tiff has already made a very significant investment in targetry which needs maintenance and if range insurance was an issue (guess it must be?) then if we forum members that attend the RRC formed the kernel of a Home Office Club with modest subs then I presume that we could raise the finance needed? My understanding with regard to setting up an HO Approved club is that you only need something like 6 - 10 members so that should be no obstacle.....I think that the bureaucracy is minimal. The Landowner might not be willing to get involved and Tiff may not have the time to liaise with him or wish to 'Chair' such a club but I think it must be worthwhile to consider options to get more 'Bods' on the RRC and remove current FAC conditional obstacles in some way? Thoughts?....If this idea is still-born then we need to come up with alternatives or I foresee this brilliant shoot fading away.....not fair on Tiff and well up my 'Tragedy-Scale' !!!
