Cheers mate, yea they are a very good looking bullet when fully formed, they are 142gr smk's on the left and 140gr berger hybrids on the right but that was my old load the bergers are now seated to 2.800" instead of 2.705" in the pic.

I really like it, not compared it to 6.5x47 but compared to Rips 260 its identical both pushing 140gr bullets at 2770-90fps , not a lot of of kick to it, shoots 120-140s very well never tryed anything lighter. Fireform loads im fireing 142smks at 2340fps still very accurate good for plinking.

Cheers guys, going for a full custom next year action and everything Either 300 RUM or .338 lap mag depending on how well i do talking my FAO into one or the other. Cant wait lol Gary Sounds good. I would opt for a Lap Mag bolt face, then you can shoot .300 /.30-338 Lapua and .338 Lapua from the one rifle. Plus .300 Lapua can be shot at Bisley and similar gallery ranges, whereas .338 is a bit limiting at times on the range side. Personally the AIAXMC is hard to look past if buying new, given the easy barrel changeability and the fact it will shoot as well as a full custom in field conditions.

Please don't take this the wrong way, it's just some friendly advice from someone who's been shooting .300 & .338 magnums (RUM's, Lap's & wildcats) for the last ten years in the field. I never feel right about posting comments like this, based on only some of the facts, but would rather be over cautious just incase...
Having read a few of your posts & seen some of the terrain you're shooting in on video, you'll need to be very careful when using a larger round. The best description I can give is it's like moving from a .22lr to a .223: the jump from medium size rounds like .308 to .338 or similar. The difference in sheer downrange power is quite substantial, i.e. a 300gr bullet from my lap mag doesn't drop below 1,000 ftlbs till past the mile (& is stilll over 500 ftlbs at 3km). Then with a bullet nearly 2" long all they want to do is keep on going with lethal energy out to 4km, unless the shot is into a steep substantial backstop that will contain the bullet. Shooting into anything less than a high steep backstop will simply allow the round to ricochet happily on for a siginificant distance up and well beyond the intended target....
I'm very fortunate that where I shoot there are not a lot of houses, well not a lot of anything for miles around, apart from 50 to 100+m high steep hills. Even then I've learnt the requirement to be very selctive on suitable shots.
In essence, the B.C. gain the bigger calibers offer is very usefull at extending way out there, but there are siginificant drawbacks that may not be immediately apparent on paper...
Hope that helps and sorry if I'm preaching to the choir,
Tiff

Yea not a problem mate i wont be useing it on any of my ground anyways , just for when i go up to wales/scotland ect.. My ground is not sutable to use .300 or .338, have one bit that would be fine to zero it on but thats about it.
Mainly for use elsewhere assisting freinds with goat and hill culling, thanks for the info tho. Used a .338 lap mag a lot previously but not under the same ristrictions if u get my meaning.
