I have tried over 5 different powders in my 6.5x47L including V140. Have always gone back to R17/elcho 17, Yes it can be a barrel burner but used sensibly it's fine. I am just trying Reload Swiss RS60 which is the same powder. I am also trying RS62 in my 6-6.5x47L which is a "Single Base" powder, I'm going to try it in the 6.5 to see what happens. I have decided to try to go over completely to European powders...fed up of waiting for US & Australian sources.

Anyone using a 6.5x47.got a tub of vit 140 wondering what load people are using with 123 gr scenars Hi Porkchop I know this is an old thread but someone may find it useful... i've used N140 on Scenars of 123gn, BR4 primers @2.175" (ogive), 35.3gn was my best accuracy load (tested 35.0 -35.9 gn @ 0.3gn intervals) below is the data from my V3 Chrono...used the Viht website data as start/max loads. Series 9 Shots: 5 Min 2772 Max 2795 Avg 2783 S-D 8.6 ES 23 Series Shot Speed 9 1 2772 ft/s 9 2 2781 ft/s 9 3 2781 ft/s 9 4 2788 ft/s 9 5 2795 ft/s I should add that the gun is 1971silversurfers Bangstick built by Dave Wylde as featured on another varminting forum, using his Valhalla Action, Barrel is 26" Pac-nor.

Yes dont blame you changing a little slow but accurate that one; I've changed to RL15 for the 123 Amax, at 38.6gn with BR4 @ 2.150" (ogive) that's getting me 3001 fps ave, I've ordered some RS60 so that'll be my next development... yep i'll spread the word now i finally found this forum.
