Two completely different products from 2 different companies at different ends of Europe with different lead times what are the chance of them turning up on the same day. Some more pics now I've unwrapped them: Not a lot of metal at that crown! Will be considerably shorter when finished. Shorter than half that length, so won't be quite so bad. You don't need a bore scope to inspect that bore! If I had thought about it before, I should have ordered an un-profiled blank, then I could have had 2 barrels out of the same blank for the same price. Just another lesson for next time. The laminate blank is the forest came laminate. Colours don't show too well on the pics but once it's oiled when really stand out.

Seems a shame to cut a lovely long barrel in half! Why not see what it'll do velocity wise before chopping it :-)

Very nice. Where did the blank come from? CWP Laminates - although I have to say they were a pain to deal with. Impossible to get hold of.

Looks like a scaffold pole!..:-))..who's doing your timber work Rich? I'm going to have a go. If it looks shocking there is enough for 2 stocks and I'll let someone else who knows what they are doing do it. Barrel length Rup? - idea is it will be a compact stalking rifle. If I build another, I may consider a longer barrel. Twist is 1 in 10 because it was that or 1 in 15. 1 in 12 would have been ideal. Walther don't do one, and I haven't got an export license sorted yet for Pac Nor. Luke's also needed renewing at the time and what can I say, I was impatient. I'd also rather have too much twist than not enough.

To be honest, it is the inetting I am most worried about. I've never had to inlet a stock before. I've just ripped out a rough hole and filled it with epoxy. Can't do that with this one. Has to be inlet perfectly.
