any of you bother, how do you do it and any pics of your cases. made a case annealer and just tried it ,204 cases in flame for six seconds just got the neck hot enough to just see a change in colour but not much showing on body.definitely don't look the same as lap brass so not sure if i have them right

Yep. Essential on the 338. Every other firing I do it.
Blow lamp held in legs, hold by hand and twist once in four to five seconds. Works great.

I get my Lap 308 cases annealed every 3 firings. Newly annealed cases does make a difference in performance. I can feel that I am exerting consistent pressure on the press when seating each bullet into a newly annealed case and from the testing I have done with the same load, only difference being between the cases, a newly annealed gave average .25MOA group and a 2x fired case gave Average .6MOA . So in my opinion, definitely worth trying.

Here's one I did. I find they shoot 1/2 MOA higher at 1000yds but far more consistently than non annealed. Attachments:

Worth doing in order to get consistent neck tension, there's a chap down in the south west who does it for a donation to the RBL, I think he did PCals.

Yes John does a very good job. He will also cleaned them with Stainless media in a tumbler. All you have to do is de prime your cases and bag them up. Be careful with postage though as it can get very expensive due to the weight of the package.

Any chance of the contact number for John? I have a load of 260 brass in need of annealing and don't want to lash them up lol!

I've never annealed brass. Can't be ar$sed. However, if I could get one of these at a reasonable price I could be tempted to start: www.giraudtool.com/annealer1.htmWith the induction attachement obviously.

That's what I use, unfortunately he won't export so it will be difficult to get one over here. The induction attachment isn't available yet but will be as an upgrade if you already have a machine.

Alan 1066 made this one. I wanted to buy one from him but the trouble is he has to get them through BSAU CE and EU before he can sell making uneconomical. So I still use Tempilaq 750 and a drill
